When you rent a small place you think you will be a little cramped. The cottage was very accommodating.
We had three adults and two dogs and never felt like we were in a small place. The owners really took care for everything to be comfortable. There was a spot for everything, even big drawers under the bed so you can place your luggage out of the way and any other bulky items.
Having a washer and dryer was also a huge plus! The kitchen had everything you needed, even a salad spinner! The few things that we had issue with was taken care of quickly.
The best part was walking out the door every morning with a cup of coffee and strolling on the beach with my husband and two dogs! We all loved it.
We used the little charcoal grill a couple times with all the food we bought at the farmer’s market on Sunday. It’s a great market, can’t be missed!
Definitely will rent again!

This was my 7th visit!
Always clean, well kept. Very updated.
Sharon (manager) takes you under her wing, and makes you part of the family.
There are so many things to do on the island. It will take me years to see it all.
My favorites are The Over Easy Cafe, Bailey’s Grocery, and riding on the bicycle paths.
There’s not enough space to describe how wonderful it is. One just has to experience it.

We have called WC6 home many times, most recently for three weeks.
It’s a delightful place to stay, with all the amenities. It’s attractively decorated, clean, steps from the beach, convenient to shopping and restaurants, and pet friendly, which is very important to us.
Our Scottie Girls especially love to eat at the Over Easy Cafe and the Island Cow. We always have a wonderful time and look forward to our next stay.

We love Florida, Sanibel and White Caps! We’ve had so much fun biking throughout the island, visiting Ding Darling, Tarpon Bay, The Lighthouse, Captiva and so much more. For tennis, we loved The Dunes where our pro Phil was very nice and very helpful. The beaches are lovely, especially the beach right outside the Lighthouse beach and beach access #71.
Cant wait till next year, hopefully no more hurricanes!

We left home, where it was 17 degrees and soon to drop! We couldn’t have asked for a more perfectly set up cottage to spend out week. I’be already accumulated a good start to my shell collection. Jerry’s market and restaurant is a great place for specialty items and reasonable groceries- BONUS! Just got bit- my 1st no see um, but I saw him!
There is not just one tortoise hanging out on the beach but 2! Favorite restaurants, Amy’s OverEasy Cafe, Gully’s and The Island Cow (3 times this week)

We have visited Sanibel many times over the years. This is our 1st stay at White Caps 6, but it will not be our last. The cottage is so clean and well maintained. The weather this week was absolutely great, in the 80’s everyday. Unfortunately next week for whomever will be in the 60’s. we went to our usual favorite restaurants, but really enjoyed a new one “Docs”. Randy Wayne White the author of “Sanibel Flats” was there as usual.
Thanks for a wonderful cottage and a great week.

Great weather and beautiful sunsets. The beach was so pristine this year (natures cleansing?) post Hurricane Charley. We survived 2 hits (Frances & Jeanne) on our home coast and were happy that cottage 6 withstood nature.
We’ll be back next year!

We’re back! One has to wonder where the year has gone. The weather this time around has been ideal but we are both saddened by all the damage. It is obvious most everywhere and quite noticeable at Ding Darling Refuge. Sorry to see the loss of Australian Pines along Periwinkle heavens! Some were over 4′ at the base!
As usual we dined at one of our favorite haunts The Jacaranda, what an absolutely superb meal we had on The Patio.
Kari was able to enjoy her sunrises with coffee in hand and the short stroll to the beach. No big rise apartment for her.
Hopefully we’ll be back another time.

This is a lovely cottage and we have enjoyed our stay here very much. The shelling wasn’t as good as when we visited last year, but last year we were here in November. We enjoyed watching the dolphins and watching the pelicans.
It is so sad all the damage that was done by the hurricane. We miss the canopy of tress over Periwinkle.
Thank you for sharing your charming cottage with us. We will come back.

We had a wonderful time at White Caps 6 for the 1st 4 days of our vacation. We went shelling, golfing and spent much time just laying around on the beach. Then all of a sudden, Hurricane Charley decided to intervene on our trip. We were forced to evacuate the island with 3 days left to go. We still had a great time and look forward to coming back, just not in hurricane season.

Our trip to Sanibel & White Caps 6 exceeded our expectations. We had a truly wonderful time-even the rain and tropical storm worked around us.
It was a trip of firsts for 2 1/2 year old Ella – her first trip to the US, the first time she flew a kite, the first time she built a real sand castle. And the sightings! A sleeping alligator, a dolphin looking for dinner – and a flamingo! (It may have been a pink spoonbill but will remain a flamingo in family lore!)
Can’t wait to come back with Ella’s sibling-to-be.

Sadly leaving after 14 days. Not long enough to enjoy all the splendors of Sanibel. The weather was typical Florida, certainly damper than Arizona, but it didn’t stop us. The cottage was well equipped and perfect! Great shelling, good fishing and plenty of food. A perfect vacation!

We are leaving this morning, how can the days go by so fast? We especially loved the screen porch and the view. Our Portuguese Water Dogs loved fetching tennis balls in the Gulf, and they really appreciated the outdoor shower and hose, it meant they were allowed more trips to the beach because clean up was so easy. There were starfish the size of dinner plates! A large box turtle spent afternoons crossing our driveway. We loved the cottage, thanks for your gracious hospitality!

Thank you for such a beautiful cottage, we had a wonderful time! We were married here at the beach entrance because we loved it the minute we saw it. The cottage was everything we had hoped for and we had a very happy week here. We will always remember your beautiful hm and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Thanks again, the Montemayors

Thank you so much for sharing your piece of paradise on earth. For those of us that only see the gulf every 2-3 years it is an amazing and magnificent show of the glory of God! Our week here has been glorious other than the self-inflicted sunburn because we couldn’t stay away from the beach. It has truly been delight to be in your home. It was beautiful and comfortable and all the necessities of home. May God bless your hospitality ten fold! Hopefully, we’ll be seeing you in the next 2 years.

Had a great time! I am so GLAD I found White Caps #6 on the internet when looking for an island get away trip to celebrate my 50th birthday with my husband. Our first trip to Sanibel and we were not disappointed. The trip was just what I was hoping for. We enjoyed the cottage and the beach, great weather, views and food. Hope to return some day!

This is our first trip to Sanibel. It is as beautiful & peaceful as you’ve heard. White Caps 6 is comfortable, clean & very much the perfect setting for a tropical vacation. Highlights of our trip (other than the obvious):
* Kayaking at Ding Darling through the mangrove forest
* Visit to CROW rehab center for wildlife every morning.
* Dinner at Twilight Cafe
Thanks to the Burden family for your hospitality. We are sorry to leave this island of bliss!

We have been coming to Sanibel for over 10 years. this is the nicest, cutest, friendliest place we have ever had the good fortune to stay at. We hope to return next year. Besides the incomparable beach, we thoroughly enjoyed a kayak tour out of McCarthy Marina just beyond Jenson’s Marina on Captiva. It’s a 2 hour tour, no experience needed. We also recommend the Green Flash restaurant, also on Captiva. We leave Sanibel today to return to a foot of snow in New York, what more is there to say?

What a wonderful week-the cottage was delightful & the weather, although cool at night, in the daytime the temps were perfect for biking and walking the beach. Our special memories are: the way the birds gather on the beach in the late afternoon, almost talking to us and the wonderful Ding Darling Preserve where we saw exotic birds in the wild that we had never seen before. And most especially, gathering with our neighbors to watch the sunsets – “Best show on earth”! We loved biking around this part of the island. Thanks for everything you did to make our stay so special.

We’ve spent many vacations on Sanibel and until very recently always during “high season”. Last year I visited in November with my new life, Kari. We find November more to our liking as the Gulf is warm and the climate more moderate to be out and about! Kari and I like Sanibel and your #6 has just the right amount of amenities (if the weather is uncooperative).
We like to bike to Ding Darling, so your location is perfect and also gives good access to Bailey’s market-since life does go on!
I am sitting at your table, looking out to the south with the sun glistening on the
gulf. It just does not get any better than this.Maybe, just maybe; God willing, we’ll see you next year!

White Caps 6 was all the rental agent, Judy, said it would be! All the things needed for a great vacation were here and we had great weather, caught some fish off the beach and enjoyed the Milky Way at night. didn’t want to go home! Thanks for sharing the cottage with us.
By: Mike & Rita Trip Date: 09/27/2003
Things didn’t start out too good-very rainy and the sun was hiding. BUT…then everything just got better and better-able to go shelling every day, found many, many (too many!) beautiful shells. 2 LARGE horse conchs – his & hers!!! Went biking to the lighthouse and surf fishing in the Gulf, catching catfish, rays and 2 snook. Dinner at McT’s was great. The cottage was everything we hoped it would be: cute, clean and close to the beach. It turned out to be a very enjoyable vacation. Hope to get back here next year. Thank you for letting us use your home!

What a wonderful and relaxing week. The cottage was just perfect, thanks for sharing it! Would recommend a fishing trip in Tarpon Bay-caught several snapper, mangroves, reds, shepherd and even a “puffer” fish. Saw dolphin and manatee as well as lots of birds.
Check out Jacaranda’s patio bar for 4-7 happy hours; GREAT appetizers and GREAT prices.
Really enjoyed the sunsets and shelling, mastered the “Sanibel Stoop” & taking many pretty shells home. Thanks again!

We’ve stayed in many different White Caps Cottages and this was definitely the nicest all around. 7 days just isn’t enough time on Sanibel!
Like our 3 1/2 year old said to us crying- ‘I want to stay 19 more days!’
Thanks for everything!

We love White Caps 6 and we love Sanibel. The island is beautiful and interesting too. The cottage is comfortable, attractive and very well equipped. everything we could possibly need is provided and it’s so good not to be taking home a suitcase full of dirty washing.
We had a fantastic holiday. We only left the island once for the Everglades Safari, but we were busy and entertained all the time. We hadn’t realized how much wildlife there was to observe here, both guided tours and under own own steam as we explored on bicycles. The cycling was great- the island is so biker-friendly and it’s flat too!
We ate out almost every night, at Traders, McT’s Shrimp House, Sanibel Grill, Mermaid Kitchen, Dolce Vita, Riviera, Timbers, the Island Cow, SeaFood Factory, Jacaranda- all very different and all good. The poshest was probably Dolce Vita, our favorite perhaps Timbers.
The shells are just irresistible- we couldn’t stop collecting them. Lovely mementoes of a lovely holiday!

This is our last morning in White Caps 6 and we would like to thank you for such graciousness. It has been an absolutely beautiful week with lots of good weather, shelling and lots of hospitable people. Our neighbors were welcoming and your cottage is a wonderful sanctuary from the outside world. We do hope to visit for our anniversary next year with our little one. Thank you again and we do hope to one day meet in person.

We have visited Sanibel many times over the last 22 years. Overtime we visit, it is much like coming home. Yet, nowhere has felt more like home than White Caps 6. Our children woke up every morning, ready to run to the beach. They ended their days with a night walk to look for turtles. They would give up their large suburban home in an instant to move into this little cottage.
The shelling was great…horse conchs, large whelks and great tulips! Tons of fighting conchs and more. we have never taken back so many shells, even when live shelling was allowed and we went on charters.
Thank you for allowing us to share your paradise!

This was a beautiful little cottage to spend our honeymoon in! It is quaint, cozy and romantic. We loved that it was clean, fresh and bright. You can’t ask for a more fully-equipped, well thought out cottage for the price! We had a wonderful time!

To no ones surprise, this must be like paradise. From my bedroom, which is the porch, I’ll write my report- Early in the morning on opening my eyes- the clouds sail by & palm trees wave in the sky. The birds are calling while a soft rain is falling. While in this bed- the wonder of it all just swirls through my head. While my pain slips away, I pray it not return for another day. For what its worth- this is like Heaven on Earth!
Thank you for a lovely and enjoyable stay!
